A Consumers’ Meet from the Power and Non-Regulated Sector (NRS) of the Central and Western Zone of Coal India was hosted on May 8, 2025, at SECL HQ in Bilaspur. The consumer meet was organized with the objective of establishing better coordination with coal consumers. Addressing the gathering, SECL CMD Mr. Harish Duhan said that SECL is committed to supplying quality coal to its consumers. He further stated that SECL has set a dispatch target of 220 MT for this year, and expressed confidence in achieving this goal while ensuring the coal quality expected by consumers is delivered. Director (Marketing), Coal India, Mr. Mukesh Choudhary, who was present at the meeting, emphasized that Coal India is fully committed to supplying coal of the designated grade to its consumers. He added that efforts are consistently made to minimize grade slippage. He assured that all the issues raised by the consumers during the meeting would be addressed promptly. Around 125 participants from various coal consumer companies attended the consumer meet. The meeting featured discussions on various operational aspects related to coal supply and quality management, as well as ways to enhance mutual coordination. Consumers also shared feedback and suggestions on multiple topics, which were assured to be considered for implementation. Mr. T.S. Bahera, General Manager (Sales & Marketing), SECL Headquarters, along with his team, was also present at the meeting.
