The Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) in Kandla has hit a historic milestone, becoming the fastest Indian Major Port to handle 100 Million Tons of cargo in the 2025-26 financial year. Achieving this well ahead of previous benchmarks, the feat highlights the port's operational efficiency and seamless coordination. This accomplishment cements DPA Kandla's status as a premier gateway for EXIM trade, successfully managing increasing volumes across liquid, dry bulk, and container segments. The milestone aligns with India’s "Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision" and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Viksit Bharat 2047" goals. It reflects a broader push to modernize port infrastructure and boost global competitiveness. The port's success is credited to excellent teamwork across departments—Traffic, Marine, Mechanical, and Civil—along with the dedication of port workers, officers, and trade partners who ensure 24/7 operations. Sushil Kumar Singh (IRSME), Chairman of DPA, congratulated the team, stating: "Crossing 100 Million Tons in record time is a proud moment... We are not only setting new operational benchmarks but also leading India's green maritime transformation." With ongoing expansion and green energy initiatives, DPA Kandla is on track for even greater growth.
