G. Kishan Reddy visits CCL’s Magadh-Sanghamitra Area in Jharkhand

G. Kishan Reddy, undertook a series of important engagements, highlighting the Government’s commitment towards energy security, community welfare, and promotion of sports.

Earlier in the day, Shri Reddy visited the Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society (JSSPS) located at Khelgaon, Hotwar. He was warmly welcomed by the trainees with a sapling. The Minister interacted with young sportspersons and their coaches, reviewed the facilities available, and felicitated players who have brought laurels to the nation by winning medals at national and international levels.

Shri Reddy also inspected the newly established Physiotherapy Centre at JSSPS and obtained detailed information about its facilities. In a unique gesture, the Minister celebrated the birthdays of 16 children born in September by cutting a cake, presenting gifts, and extending his blessings. Addressing the young athletes, he urged them to pursue rigorous training and aspire to bring glory to the state and the nation.

It is noteworthy that JSSPS, a joint initiative of CCL and the Government of Jharkhand, provides modern sports training facilities in 11 disciplines including hockey, football, athletics, swimming, boxing, wrestling, badminton, table tennis, and archery. Till date, JSSPS players have achieved commendable success with 15 international medals, 262 national medals, and 1352 state medals.

Later, Shri Reddy interacted with media representatives in Ranchi. Referring to the newly constructed Integrated Command & Control Centre (ICCC) of CCL, he underlined the Central Government’s efforts in promoting state-of-the-art technology and modern infrastructure in mining. The Minister reiterated that the Ministry of Coal is not profit-driven but is committed to strengthening India’s energy security and contributing to the vision of a “Vikshit Bharat”.

Shri Reddy subsequently inaugurated the newly constructed Regional Office of the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) in Ranchi, which will further enhance the monitoring and regulatory framework of mining operations in the region.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited CCL’s Magadh-Sanghamitra Area in Chatra district, where he was accorded a traditional welcome by the local people. From the view point, the Minister reviewed mining operations, received a comprehensive briefing, and issued necessary directions for efficient and sustainable mining practices. On this occasion, he handed over interview letters to 24 project affected people, interacted with women employees and sanitation workers. He also met trade union representatives and workers to understand their concerns and assured them of the Government’s continued support. On this occasion a special plantation drive was also organised by Magadh SanghMitra Area.

During the visit, Shri Reddy was accompanied by Shri Sanoj Kumar Jha, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal; Shri Sanjay Lohia, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Mines; Shri P. M. Prasad, Chairman, Coal India Limited; Shri Nilendu Kumar Singh, CMD, CCL; Shri Manoj Kumar, CMD, CMPDIL; Shri Manoj Kumar Agarwal, CMD, BCCL; along with other senior officials from the Ministry, CIL, and CCL.

In the evening Shri Reddy met the Chief minister of Jharkhand Shri Hemant Soren. The two leaders discussed a plethora of issue regarding coal mining, inclusive development of the community and labour welfare among others.
