In a significant move to bridge India’s skill gap and enhance employability, NBCC and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a Multi Skill Training Institute (MSTI) and a Model Career Centre (MCC) at Ghitorni, Delhi. This collaboration will empower India’s youth by providing industry-relevant skills, facilitating employability, and fostering economic growth.
The MoU was signed by Shri Sougata Roy Choudhury, Executive Director, CII and Shri Manas Kaviraj, Senior Executive Director (HRM/Admin/CC), NBCC in the presence Shri K.P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD, NBCC, Dr. Suman Kumar, Director (Commercial), NBCC, Shri Anjeev Kumar Jain, Director (Finance), NBCC and other senior officials from both the organizations. The partnership marks a decisive step toward aligning the national workforce with the evolving demands of India’s rapidly growing economy.
In the first phase of the collaboration, which will take place in FY25-26, the training programs will impact over 8,000 youth across Delhi and surrounding regions, ensuring that they are equipped with skills that align with the industry’s evolving needs. Through career counselling, job fairs and industry linkages, the program will facilitate direct placements, ensuring that the youth are not only trained but also provided with clear pathways to employment. The program will offer industry-aligned bridge courses aimed at reskilling and upskilling youth, preparing them for the modern workforce in sectors like construction, banking, healthcare, hospitality and more.
The initiative will focus on providing skills training across key sectors, fostering direct employment linkages and enabling industry-relevant certifications to ensure that graduates of the program are ready to meet the needs of employers. The establishment of MSTI and MCC will be an innovative and collaborative effort to create a robust model of skills development, encompassing both training and career support and will set the stage for the future of India’s workforce.
This initiative aligns with the Government of India’s broader skill development goals. Through this partnership, CII and NBCC are directly contributing to India’s vision of a skilled workforce that can propel the economy forward.
