The "Bhoomi Pujan Ceremony" for construction of Type-V residential quarters under Phase I of the AIIMS Residential Redevelopment Scheme at West Ansari Nagar, New Delhi was held recently. The event was attended by eminent dignitaries including Shri K.P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman & Managing Director, NBCC; Smt Ritu Pande, CVO, NBCC along with other senior officers and distinguished guests.
In this phase, NBCC (India) Ltd is set to begin construction of 156 Type-V residential quarters with an estimated cost of Rs.144 crore. This marks a significant step toward delivering modern, sustainable housing infrastructure for the AIIMS community.
At West Ansari Nagar, two residential packages—117 Type-IV special quarters and 156 Type-V quarters—are being constructed with NBCC investing approximately Rs 180 crore as seed money, to be recovered through project-generated revenue as per Cabinet provisions.
With the recent success of the World Trade Center at Nauroji Nagar highlighting investor confidence in NBCC’s urban transformation initiatives, the AIIMS redevelopment project presents a compelling opportunity to deliver world-class, sustainable infrastructure for India’s premier medical institution.
