NLCIL’s Second Commercial Coal Block and the Biggest among the NLCIL’s Mining Projects, Machhakata Coal Block’s Vesting Order was issued today (05.09.2024) by Addl. Secretary (Coal) & the Nominated Authority, Ministry of Coal (MoC), Govt. of India to Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines) and Director (P&P A/C), NLCIL at Shastribhavan, MOC, New Delhi.
This Coal Mine is having reserves of 1.4 BT, with average Grade of G10 – G11, and capacity of 30 MTPA, which is expected to be one among the Top Five Biggest Mines in India. Today marks the zero date for development of this Mine as per MoC timeline. NLCIL aims to commence the mining ahead of the schedule. This marks another milestone towards realising NLCIL’s Corporate Plan 2030.
