Madhya Pradesh's Heritage and Culture to Reach Over 80 Nations Through Global TV Series
MP's wildlife, heritage, and tribal culture will be showcased in a Spanish TV series airing in 80+ countries, marking a major boost for global tourism promotion.
Madhya Pradesh's extraordinary tapestry of heritage, wildlife, spirituality, and tribal traditions is set to captivate audiences across more than 80 nations through an international television production titled Rural Tourism of the World. The series, currently being filmed across the state by the Spain-based production house Colors Communication Group (RTVV), is poised to establish Madhya Pradesh as a premier global tourism and filming destination. MP Tourism Board (MPTB) Managing Director Dr. Ilayaraja T. confirmed that the ambitious project has emerged from a collaborative agreement between the Madhya Pradesh government and Spain, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier this year. The initiative is widely regarded as a landmark endeavour in projecting the state on the international tourism map. The project gained momentum at FITUR Madrid 2026—one of the world's foremost tourism exhibitions—where MPTB officials presented the state's immense tourism and filming potential to global stakeholders. The series will spotlight UNESCO World Heritage Sites including the Sanchi Stupa and Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, as well as the breathtaking natural vistas of Satpura National Park, Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve, and the Tawa region. Rural and tribal communities in areas such as Tamia, Sabarwani, and Dhusawani will also be brought to international attention through vibrant portrayals of Gond art, village homestays, local gastronomy, and indigenous lifestyles. The spiritual magnificence of the Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Ujjain will further be highlighted in the series. Spanish director Juan Frutos, who is overseeing the production, lauded the filming experience in the state as extraordinary, commending the warmth of its people and the depth of its cultural heritage.
