Puneet Kansal Gets Additional Charge as AAI Chairman for Three Months

Puneet Kansal, IAS (Sikkim: 1996), has been given additional charge as Chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for three months. The order follows Vipin Kumar's lateral move to the Ministry of Rural Development.

AAI is a statutory body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation. It builds, manages and upgrades airports and provides air traffic management services across the country.

Kansal is a 1996-batch officer of the Sikkim cadre. He takes up the AAI chairmanship in addition to his substantive posting.

Vipin Kumar's lateral shift to Rural Development left the chairman's post without a full-time incumbent. The additional charge keeps the chair filled while the government decides on a regular appointment.

The arrangement runs for three months.
