Bihar Promotes 14 State Civil Service Officers to IAS Cadre
Fourteen Bihar State Civil Service officers promoted to IAS, allocated to Bihar cadre against the Select List of 2025 in a major administrative induction.
In a significant move for Bihar's administrative framework, fourteen officers from the State Civil Service (SCS) have been promoted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), allocated to the Bihar cadre against the Select List of 2025. The promoted officers are: Mrinayak Das, Manoranjan Kumar, Vikash Kumar, Dr Gagan, Md Ejtaba Hussain, Bidhu Bhushan Choudhary, Rajnish Kumar, Md Wasim Ahmad, Krityanand Ranjan, Md Rashid Alam, Ibrar Ahmad Khan, Manoj Kumar, and Hemant Kumar Singh. The promotion of SCS officers to the IAS represents a well-established channel through which experienced state-level administrators are inducted into the all-India services, bringing deep field-level knowledge and district administrative experience to the higher echelons of governance. Bihar, one of India's larger states with a complex governance mandate, stands to benefit from the fresh infusion of inducted IAS officers who carry years of ground-level administrative experience. Their elevation is expected to strengthen the state's capacity for programme implementation, particularly at the district and sub-divisional level. The appointments are subject to formal notification and subsequent assignment of postings by the state government.
