Dipankar Mahto has been appointed as Jute Commissioner at the Joint Secretary level in the Office of the Jute Commissioner, Kolkata, under the Ministry of Textiles. His tenure will run through to his superannuation date of December 31, 2028. A 1998-batch officer of the Indian Postal Service, Telecommunications and Accounts and Finance Service (IP&TA&FS), Mahto brings decades of administrative experience to the role overseeing India's jute sector.
