Eleven CSS Officers Promoted as Deputy Secretary in 2026 Selection Grade Select List

The President has approved the promotion of 11 Grade-I (Under Secretary level) officers of the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) in the Selection Grade (Deputy Secretary) Select List (SGSL) of CSS for the year 2026.

The Central Secretariat Service staffs the ministries and departments of the Union government at the Section Officer, Under Secretary and Deputy Secretary levels. A promotion in the Selection Grade moves an officer from Under Secretary to Deputy Secretary.

Bikramjit Choudhary moves from the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to the Home department. Sanjeet Kumar Bhagat moves from Culture to Minority Affairs. Pankaj Gangwar moves from Economic Affairs to Revenue. Anil Kumar Gupta and Mohan Lal are both in Food and Public Distribution. Amrendra Kumar Sinha is in Cooperation, Rajesh Kumar Yadav in the Department of Personnel and Training, and Amita Gupta in the Department of Posts.

Three officers are on deputation. Rahul Dwivedi and Madhukar Pandey are on deputation, and Reema Sharma, also on deputation, will receive a posting on her return.

Eleven officers appear in the order: Reema Sharma, Bikramjit Choudhary, Anil Kumar Gupta, Rahul Dwivedi, Madhukar Pandey, Sanjeet Kumar Bhagat, Amrendra Kumar Sinha, Mohan Lal, Rajesh Kumar Yadav, Pankaj Gangwar and Amita Gupta.
