Keralam Government Creates Five Ex-Cadre Superintendent of Police Posts at Level 11 of Pay Matrix

The Keralam government on Monday created five ex-cadre posts of Superintendent of Police, at Level 11 of the Pay Matrix.

The five posts are Superintendent of Police, Protection of Civil Rights, Thiruvananthapuram; Superintendent of Police, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (V&ACB), Central Range, Ernakulam; Superintendent of Police, Special Operation Group; Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law and Order and Traffic-II, Kozhikode; and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order II), Thiruvananthapuram City.

Ex-cadre posts sit outside the sanctioned cadre strength of a service and are created for functions that the cadre strength does not cover. Level 11 of the Pay Matrix is the pay level of the Senior Time Scale in the Indian Police Service, the level at which officers hold Superintendent of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police charge.

Two of the five posts are in Thiruvananthapuram, one is in Ernakulam, one is in Kozhikode, and one sits with the Special Operation Group. Two of the posts, the Deputy Commissioner positions, are in city policing, while the Vigilance Bureau and Protection of Civil Rights posts are specialised functions.
