K.C. Gupta Given Additional Charge as Agriculture Production Commissioner
Senior IAS officer K.C. Gupta has been given additional charge as Agriculture Production Commissioner of Madhya Pradesh.
K.C. Gupta, a 1992-batch IAS officer serving as Additional Chief Secretary of the Cottage and Village Industries Department, has been given additional charge as Agriculture Production Commissioner of Madhya Pradesh, according to an order dated June 17, 2026. The assignment is temporary and continues until further orders, supplementing rather than replacing Gupta's existing departmental responsibilities. He takes over the agriculture production charge from Ashok Barnwal, a 1991-batch officer who held it as one of several additional responsibilities alongside his substantive post in the Public Health and Medical Education Department. Barnwal is relieved of the agriculture production charge specifically once Gupta assumes it, while retaining his other assignments. The order was issued by the General Administration Department and signed by Chief Secretary Anurag Jain on behalf of the Governor.
