Information and Broadcasting Ministry Transfers 27 Indian Information Service Officers
The MIB has transferred 27 IIS officers, including key appointments at PIB and DD News in Delhi, Mumbai, and other regions.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has executed a major reshuffle, transferring 27 Indian Information Service officers spanning ranks from Additional Director General down to Assistant Directors.
Among the more senior postings, Himani Sarad has been named Additional Director General at the Press Information Bureau in Delhi, while Ritu Shukla takes over as Additional Director General at Doordarshan News in Delhi, placing both officers in charge of the government's primary media communication and public broadcasting functions from the national capital.
Other significant transfers include Ratnakar Pamula, posted as Deputy Press Registrar, a role tied to the statutory registration and regulation of periodicals and newspapers, and Sayyid Rabeehashmi, named Director at PIB Delhi, both positions carrying responsibility within the government's press and media liaison infrastructure.
The reshuffle also assigned additional charges to several officers, including Neha Jalali in Jammu and Siddharth B Bodke in Mumbai, a common arrangement when the IIS cadre's officer strength in a particular region does not immediately support a dedicated appointment for every functional charge that needs coverage.
The transfers extend to Assistant Director-level postings across multiple regional offices, including Bengaluru, Imphal, and Aizawl, reflecting the geographically dispersed nature of the Ministry's regional information and public relations infrastructure, which maintains field offices to coordinate government communication across states and union territories.
Reshuffles spanning this many officers and ranks simultaneously are typically undertaken by the Ministry to align its regional and headquarters staffing with current communication priorities, particularly around PIB and Doordarshan's coordination role during major government announcements and public information campaigns.
The transfer orders were issued through the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting's Directorate of Personnel, which administers postings and transfers for the Indian Information Service cadre.
