POWERGRID Marks International Day of Yoga Across Offices Nationwide
POWERGRID observed the 12th International Day of Yoga 2026 across its offices, with CMD Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra leading the session at Corporate Centre, Gurugram.
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Power, observed the 12th International Day of Yoga at its offices and establishments across the country. At the Corporate Centre in Gurugram, the event was led by Chairman and Managing Director Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra, alongside Director (Finance) G. Ravisankar and Director (Personnel) Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi. The session drew participation from employees and their families, marking it as a workplace wellness activity that extended beyond the typical professional setting. The celebrations were conducted in accordance with the theme for International Day of Yoga 2026, "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," which focuses on the role of yoga in supporting physical fitness, mental health, and overall wellbeing across age groups. Participants engaged in yoga postures, breathing techniques, and meditation under the guidance of qualified instructors. POWERGRID's participation in the national yoga observance reflects its stated commitment to employee wellbeing and workplace health. The organisation, which as of May 31, 2026 operates 291 substations, more than 185,750 circuit kilometres of transmission lines, and 630,516 MVA of transformation capacity, has maintained a transmission system availability rate of over 99.84 percent through the use of automation and digital monitoring systems.
