Jiwan Kapur, another senior executive, will head the YONO Retail Business function in the same department, bringing his expertise in retail banking and digital payments to the table. YONO, SBI's digital banking platform, has been a key focus area for the bank, and Kapur's appointment is expected to further accelerate its growth trajectory. Manoj Kumar Patra, a 1995 batch officer of the State Bank of India, takes over as GM (Payments) in the TB Solutions Department at Corporate Centre Mumbai, highlighting the bank's emphasis on strengthening its payments infrastructure and expanding its offerings in this space.
In regional and operational appointments, Debjeet Mitra has been posted as GM (DA) at the Discipline Management Hub, LHO Mumbai Metro, while Suresh Surulibommu assumes charge as GM (Operations-II) at the RB & Ops Corporate Centre Mumbai. These appointments reflect the bank's commitment to maintaining high standards of operational efficiency and discipline across its vast network. Manivannan Vaithialingam is transferred to the Thiruvananthapuram Circle as GM (Network-III), underscoring the importance of effective network management in driving business growth and customer satisfaction.
The reshuffle is significant, as it demonstrates SBI's efforts to adapt to the evolving banking landscape and stay ahead of the curve in terms of digital transformation, payments, and operations. The appointments are expected to have a positive impact on governance and public administration, as they will enable the bank to better serve its customers, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to the overall growth of the economy. As the country's largest public sector bank, SBI's leadership appointments are closely watched, and these changes are likely to have a ripple effect across the banking industry.
The Digital Banking Department, where Srivastava and Kapur will be based, plays a critical role in driving SBI's digital transformation agenda. The department is responsible for developing and implementing digital banking strategies, leveraging emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cloud computing to enhance customer experience and drive business growth. The Payments department, where Patra will be based, is focused on developing and implementing payment solutions that cater to the evolving needs of customers, including digital payments, mobile wallets, and UPI transactions. The appointments are expected to bring in fresh perspectives and ideas, enabling SBI to stay ahead of the competition and maintain its leadership position in the banking industry.
