West Bengal Shifts 11 IAS Officers of 2021 Batch
West Bengal has transferred 11 IAS officers of the 2021 batch, mostly into Additional District Magistrate postings across districts including North 24 Parganas, Hooghly and Howrah.

The Additional District Magistrate is a core early-to-mid-career posting for IAS officers in West Bengal, working under the District Magistrate on land administration, revenue matters and coordination of welfare scheme delivery at the sub-district level, and it remains the standard assignment through which the state exposes its newer officers to district administration before considering them for more independent charges.
Among those moved, Abhishek Shukla has been posted as Additional Director, SUDA, the State Urban Development Agency, while Dhumal Pratik Ashok takes charge as Chief Executive Officer, District Skill Development Authority, both departmental postings that differ from the ADM assignments most of their batchmates received, suggesting the state has identified specific aptitudes among the batch for urban development and skilling work.
The remaining nine officers move into ADM charges across a spread of districts: Subhankar Bala to Paschim Medinipur, Ahimsa Jain to North 24 Parganas, Subham Maurya to Alipurduar, Bharat Singh to Jhargram, Manzar Hussain Anjum to Kalimpong in a land reforms charge, Vivek Pankaj to Hooghly, Mithun Biswas to Paschim Bardhaman and Ravi Kumar to Howrah, while Priya Yadav has been posted as Joint Secretary in the office of the Chief Secretary, a secretariat-level assignment distinct from the district postings given to her batchmates.
Batch-wide postings of this kind typically follow the completion of a cohort's initial training and probationary district attachment, marking the point at which a full batch of officers takes up its first substantive administrative charges, a milestone West Bengal manages on a batch-by-batch basis as officers complete their induction training.
