West Bengal Carries Out Sweeping Reshuffle of IPS Officers Across Police Commands

The West Bengal government has carried out one of the most extensive reshuffles of IPS officers in recent memory, reassigning dozens of officers across the state's police hierarchy — spanning intelligence, crime, traffic, coastal security, and district-level commands. Among the key transfers, Rajesh Kumar Yadav has been shifted as IGP, STF (Special Task Force), while Rishikesh Meena takes charge as IGP (Organisation) and Sabya Sachi Raman Mishra has been appointed as IGP, AP Barrackpore. In Kolkata Police, Dip Narayan Goswami moves as Additional CP, and Kunal Agarwal joins as Additional CP (Crime). Several domain-specific commands have also seen new leadership: Gaurav Sharma is posted to IGP STF, Sukesh Kumar Jain to IGP CCW, Murali Dhar as IGP IB, and Farhat Abbas to IGP Training. U K Naskar has been assigned as IGP, Correctional Services, and V Solomon Nesakumar as IGP Personnel. Coastal security gets new leadership with Arnab Ghosh posted as IGP, Coastal Security. Swapan Sarkar moves to IGP, ACB (Anti-Corruption Branch). In the Siliguri range, Syed Waquar Raza is appointed as CP, Siliguri Police Commissionerate, while Mrs S Lepchaa joins as IGP, AP North Bengal, and Mehmood Akhtar takes charge as IG, Traffic. At the DIG level, key transfers include Rupesh Kumar as DIG, STF; Indra Chakravorty to DIG, CID; S Selvamurugan as DIG, Traffic; Z A Kidwai as ADG, Fire & Emergency Services; and Amitabh Maiti as DIG, Medinipur Range. Mrs Anjali Singh moves as DIG, Malda Range. Among SP-level postings, Abhishek Gupta joins as SP, Dakshin Dinajpur; Mrs SK Veenapani as SP, Jalpaiguri; Amit Verma as SP, Howrah Rural; K S Raj as SP, Purulia; and Mrs Charu Sharma as DCP, Siliguri.
