24 ACS Officers Deployed for Ambubachi Mela at Kamakhya, Guwahati

Assam deploys 24 ACS officers to ensure smooth conduct of Ambubachi Mela 2026 at Kamakhya Devalaya, Guwahati from June 21-26.

24 ACS Officers Deployed for Ambubachi Mela at Kamakhya, Guwahati

The Assam government has posted 24 Assam Civil Services (ACS) officers for administrative duties during the Ambubachi Mela 2026, scheduled at the Kamakhya Devalaya in Guwahati from June 21 to June 26. All officers have been asked to report to Swapneel Paul, IAS, District Commissioner, Kamrup, on June 21. The deployment covers officers from ACS direct recruit batches 2021 through 2025, drawn from postings across multiple districts and sub-divisions in Assam. From the 2021 batch: Ashish Kalita (Boko-Chaygaon Co-District, Kamrup), Ayaz Tanvir Alam (Rangiya Co-District, Kamrup), Yambem Anand Singha (Bijni Co-District, Chirang), Polash Borah (Kamrup), Bhaskar Jyoti Mazumdar (Palashbari Co-District, Kamrup), and Krishnesha Bora (Goalpara). From the 2022 batch: Suhel Yasir (Dalgaon Co-District, Darrang), Bharjil Kalita (Barpeta), Hrishiraj Das (Rangia Co-District, Kamrup), Bidisha Borah (Tamulpur), Ruchi Awasthy (Sipajhar Co-District, Darrang), Nabajit Bhagawati (Barpeta), Souravjyoti Deuri (Chirang), and Anupam Das (Salbari Sub Division, Baksa). From the 2024 batch: Mrigakshee Sarmah (Baksa), Debarshee Talukdar (Jagiroad Co-District, Morigaon), Smritashree Baruah (Darrang), Suparna Dey (Nalbari), Nabajyoti Nath (Dalgaon Co-District, Darrang), and N Ranabir Singha (Kamrup). From the 2025 batch: Dipu Das (Darrang), Fami Mushahary (Sipajhar Co-District, Darrang), Deepshikha Doley (Palashbari Co-District, Kamrup), and Raben Deury (Boko-Chaygaon Co-District, Kamrup). The Ambubachi Mela draws lakhs of pilgrims annually, putting substantial pressure on crowd management, traffic movement, and law and order arrangements around Guwahati's Kamakhya temple complex.
