Amit Tomar Elevated to Managing Director, Energy Development Corporation
Amit Tomar takes charge as Managing Director of the Energy Development Corporation and Commissioner of New and Renewable Energy.
Amit Tomar, a 2009-batch IAS officer, has been appointed Managing Director of the Energy Development Corporation in Bhopal, with an additional charge as Commissioner of New and Renewable Energy, according to the June 17, 2026 transfer order. He moves from his previous role as Inspector General of Registration and Superintendent of Stamps, where he also held an additional charge in the Commercial Tax Department. The new posting places Tomar at the center of Madhya Pradesh's renewable energy push, overseeing both the state-run energy development corporation and renewable power initiatives. His move into the renewable energy commissioner role means Manu Shrivastava, a 1991-batch officer who had been holding that additional charge, will be relieved of it once Tomar takes over. The order was issued by the General Administration Department and signed by Chief Secretary Anurag Jain.
