Deepak Singh Appointed as Commissioner-cum-Registrar of Cooperative Societies

Deepak Singh, a 2007-batch IAS officer, has been transferred as Commissioner-cum-Registrar of Cooperative Societies in Madhya Pradesh, according to the order issued on June 17, 2026. He previously served as Financial Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh State Election Commission in Bhopal. The Cooperative Societies department regulates the state's network of cooperative banks, credit societies and agricultural cooperatives, a sector with significant rural economic reach in Madhya Pradesh. Singh's move from the Election Commission to this department marks a shift from an oversight body to a direct administrative role with regulatory functions over financial cooperatives.
