DFCCIL Extends Govind Prasad Saini's Deputation as CGM Ahmedabad Through 2028
IRSEE officer Govind Prasad Saini gets deputation extension as CGM Ahmedabad with DFCCIL up to November 2028, his 4th and 5th year.
Govind Prasad Saini, a senior Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) officer, has received an extended deputation with the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd. (DFCCIL), where he continues to serve as Chief General Manager (CGM) at the Ahmedabad (ADI) unit. The extension covers the fourth and fifth year of his deputation, keeping him in the role through November 20, 2028. Prior to joining DFCCIL, Saini served as Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) at Rajkot under Western Railway. His continued tenure at Ahmedabad reflects the organisation's confidence in his leadership during a pivotal phase of freight corridor expansion in Gujarat. DFCCIL, a special purpose vehicle under the Ministry of Railways, is responsible for building and operating dedicated rail freight corridors across India. The Ahmedabad zone forms a critical node of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, which links the industrial heartlands of Gujarat and Maharashtra with northern India. The extension underscores a broader institutional policy of leveraging experienced railway officials to guide the freight corridor's operational ramp-up. Senior officers with cross-functional expertise in electrical systems and rail operations have been central to DFCCIL's strategy as it moves from construction to full commercial deployment. Saini's continuation in this role is expected to provide administrative continuity as DFCCIL strengthens its commercial freight operations in western India. The Ahmedabad segment is regarded as strategically vital given the region's dense industrial activity, logistics demands, and port connectivity requirements.
