DFCCIL MD Reviews WDFC Infrastructure, Launches Solar Projects and ToT Wagons
DFCCIL MD Praveen Kumar inspects WDFC infrastructure from New Dadri to New Dabla, inaugurates modified ToT wagons and solar projects at New Rewari and New Ateli.
Praveen Kumar, Managing Director of the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), completed an end-to-end inspection of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) from New Dadri to New Dabla, covering infrastructure projects, freight business development, and renewable energy work along the route. Kumar began at New Dadri, where he inspected the ROB-191H structure and the IMD building. He reviewed the technical status of ongoing work and directed officials to fast-track the operationalisation of the IMD facility. A rail car inspection of the New Dadri–New Rewari section followed, during which he reviewed proposals to grow freight volumes and raise corridor utilisation. At New Rewari, Kumar inaugurated a modified rake of low-floor FMP wagons for the Trucks-on-Train (ToT) service. The redesigned wagons have a 975 mm floor height and a 60-tonne carrying capacity, allowing both commercial and defence vehicles to be loaded efficiently. He also reviewed a simplified vehicle-lashing system developed jointly with the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), incorporating feedback from industry users. Kumar laid the foundation stone for a solar power project at New Rewari under the RESCO model and inaugurated a self-financed solar project at New Ateli under the CAPEX model — two additions to DFCCIL's renewable energy infrastructure along the corridor. The inspection continued to the New Ateli–New Dabla section, where Kumar reviewed the NICDC Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal at Nangal Chaudhary. He directed officials to keep completion on schedule while maintaining construction quality. Senior DFCCIL and NICDC officials accompanied him throughout the day.
