Lokesh Vishnoi Transferred to North Eastern Railway as PCSTE

Lokesh Vishnoi, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers presently posted at the Indian Railways Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications, has been transferred to North Eastern Railway and posted as Principal Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer.

The Principal Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer is the senior-most signalling and telecommunications position on a railway zone, responsible for the safety-critical signalling systems that govern train movement, interlocking and communication networks across the zone's entire route length.

Vishnoi's move from IRISET, the Railways' dedicated training institute for signal and telecommunication engineers based in Secunderabad, to a zonal field posting marks a shift from an academic and training role to direct operational responsibility for a zone's signalling infrastructure.

North Eastern Railway covers routes across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar with lines extending toward the Nepal border, and its signalling network includes a mix of older mechanical interlocking systems and newer electronic installations undergoing modernisation.

His transfer is part of the routine rotation of senior signal engineers between training assignments and zonal postings that the Railway Board conducts periodically to match officers' teaching and field experience with operational needs.

As PCSTE, Vishnoi will be responsible for signal safety compliance, technology upgrades and telecommunications infrastructure across North Eastern Railway, a zone the Railway Board has prioritised for signalling modernisation in recent years.

The transfer takes effect as per the Railway Board's posting order.
