Dr Saumitra Mohan, a 2002 batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre, has been appointed as Secretary to the Governor of West Bengal. In a related development, 1997 batch IAS officer Surendra Gupta, currently serving as Divisional Commissioner of the Presidency Division, will additionally hold the charge of Principal Secretary in the state's Transport Department.
