Dr. E. Ramesh Kumar takes charge as Principal Secretary of MP's Revenue Department, also serving as Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner.
Dr. E. Ramesh Kumar, a 1999-batch IAS officer, has been appointed Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department in Madhya Pradesh, according to a transfer order dated June 17, 2026. He will simultaneously hold the post of Relief Commissioner and Rehabilitation Commissioner. Kumar previously served as Principal Secretary of the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department, a role he held alongside additional charges in the Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Department and the Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes Department. Under the new order, he retains responsibility for the Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Department and the Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes Department, both continuing as additional charges. The reassignment places one of the state's senior welfare-sector administrators at the head of the Revenue Department, a portfolio that oversees land records, disaster relief operations and rehabilitation programs across Madhya Pradesh. The order was issued by the General Administration Department and signed by Chief Secretary Anurag Jain on behalf of the Governor. It forms part of a wider reshuffle covering 29 IAS officers in the state.
