Vivek Kumar Porwal Named Principal Secretary, Mineral Resources Department

Vivek Kumar Porwal, a 2000-batch IAS officer, has been transferred as Principal Secretary of the Mineral Resources Department in Madhya Pradesh, under an order issued by the state's General Administration Department on June 17, 2026. Porwal moves from his previous post as Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department, where he also held the additional charge of Relief Commissioner and Rehabilitation Commissioner. Those responsibilities now pass to Dr. E. Ramesh Kumar under the same order. The Mineral Resources Department oversees mining licenses, royalty collection and regulation of mineral extraction across the state, an area that has drawn increased administrative attention given Madhya Pradesh's mining revenues. The transfer takes effect immediately and continues until further orders. It is one of 29 individual postings in a broader reshuffle that also includes five additional-charge assignments for senior officers, signed by Chief Secretary Anurag Jain on behalf of the Governor.
