Haryana Reshuffles Seven Senior IAS Officers; Monica Malik Gets Rohtak Division
Haryana reshuffles seven IAS officers; Monica Malik posted as Rohtak Division Commissioner, Prabhjot Singh as DG Transport, Virender Dahiya as Director Higher Education.
The Haryana government has issued transfer orders for seven IAS officers, restructuring senior postings across divisional, transport, urban development, and municipal administration roles. Monica Malik has been appointed Commissioner of the Rohtak Division, while Prabhjot Singh takes charge as Director General, Transport, and Virender Kumar Dahiya moves to Director, Higher Education.
The Commissioner of a Division is one of the senior-most field appointments in a state's administrative structure, responsible for overseeing revenue administration, law and order coordination, and development programmes across the districts that comprise the division. The Rohtak Division, which covers several districts in the NCR and its adjacent areas, is among Haryana's most economically active zones, with land records, urban development, and industrial corridor administration forming the core of divisional work. Monica Malik's appointment there places a senior officer at a posting that demands close attention to both revenue and governance coordination.
Prabhjot Singh moves to Director General, Transport — a role that oversees the state's road transport operations, permits, vehicle inspection, and enforcement under the Motor Vehicles Act. The transport directorate in a state like Haryana, with its heavy commercial vehicle traffic, national highway density, and industrial logistics, carries significant enforcement and revenue responsibilities. Virender Kumar Dahiya, meanwhile, takes charge as Director, Higher Education, and holds the additional post of Special Secretary, Higher Education Department, as well as Director, Technical Education. His brief covers the state's universities, colleges, and polytechnics.
Niraj has been posted as Administrator, Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), Faridabad, with additional charge of Additional Director, Urban Estate, Faridabad. HSVP is Haryana's primary urban development authority, and the Faridabad zone — part of the NCR — has been among the most active in terms of residential plot allocation, sector development, and civic infrastructure projects. Saloni Sharma has been named Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Karnal, while Hitesh Kumar Meena receives the additional charge of Additional Secretary, Finance. C Jayasharadha has been transferred as District Municipal Commissioner, Hisar, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Hisar, and Additional CEO of the Special Purpose Vehicle for the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster at Hisar.
The Hisar Integrated Manufacturing Cluster appointment is particularly notable. The IMC at Hisar is part of Haryana's industrial development push under the national industrial corridors programme, intended to attract manufacturing investment by providing plug-and-play infrastructure. The Additional CEO role at the SPV places Jayasharadha at the intersection of urban governance and industrial development — a posting that requires coordination between the state industries department, municipal bodies, and central agencies.
The overall reshuffle reflects the Haryana government's effort to consolidate administrative responsibilities in key urban and industrial growth nodes. The transfers span five distinct functional areas — divisional administration, transport regulation, higher education, urban development, and industrial cluster management — suggesting a broad reconfiguration rather than routine rotation.
Transfer orders for all seven officers were issued by the Haryana government's General Administration Department in a single order. The postings take effect immediately.
