Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday said that the state government will formulate a policy next year to promote organic farming on lands owned by panchayats.
Around 800 acres of land owned by the agriculture department will be leased only to those farmers who commit to practising natural and organic farming for at least ten years, the chief minister said at an 'Agriculture Workshop' in Kurukshetra.
The workshop was organised under the Natural Farming Promotion and Cluster Formation Programme of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare.
