Jayadevan A Gets One-Year Extension as DIG in CBI
Jayadevan A, 2008 batch IPS officer of MP cadre, gets a one-year extension as DIG in CBI in relaxation of tenure policy.
The deputation tenure of Jayadevan A, who serves as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Bureau of Investigation, has been extended by one year beyond June 2, 2026. The extension has been granted in relaxation of the standard IPS Tenure Policy. Jayadevan is a 2008 batch IPS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre. Extensions of this nature are typically granted when an officer is handling sensitive or long-running investigations where continuity of oversight is considered important. The relaxation of tenure policy in his case suggests the CBI and the Department of Personnel and Training assessed that his continued presence was operationally necessary. A DIG at the CBI occupies a senior supervisory position, responsible for multiple investigation branches and often coordinating with the Special Director or Director's office on complex matters. Jayadevan's extended tenure will now run through to at least June 2027.
