Vineet Malik Appointed SP in CBI for Four-Year Term

Vineet Malik has been inducted as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Central Bureau of Investigation for a period of four years. He is a 2016 batch officer of the Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS). Malik's appointment adds to a fresh cohort of officers being inducted into the CBI across various ranks. As an ITS officer, his technical expertise in telecommunications systems, regulatory frameworks, and digital infrastructure is expected to contribute to investigations involving financial technology, communication-related offences, and cyber-linked cases. The SP designation at CBI carries direct investigative accountability, with officers managing teams, drafting reports for supervisory review, and appearing before courts and oversight bodies. Malik will serve a four-year term before his deputation comes up for review.
