Uttarakhand Reshuffles IPS Officers, Prahlad Narayan Meena Promoted to DIG Vigilance

Uttarakhand has carried out a significant reshuffle of its IPS officers, with Prahlad Narayan Meena promoted to Deputy Inspector General at Vigilance Headquarters and Nivedita Kukreti promoted to Inspector General of Police at the State Disaster Response Force.
Among the new district-level postings, Pramod Doval has been named Senior Superintendent of Police for Dehradun, Ajay Singh takes charge of the Special Task Force, Navneet Singh moves to Haridwar, Ajay Ganpati Kumar is posted to Udham Singh Nagar, Manikant Mishra takes over Intelligence, and Chandrashekhar R Ghodke is assigned to Almora, spanning several of the state's key districts and specialised units.
Further postings include Yashwant Singh as Principal of the Police Training College, Dipesh Kumar Rai as Superintendent of Police for CID, and Amit Srivastava as Commandant of the first India Reserve Battalion, positions that carry responsibility for training, criminal investigation coordination, and battalion-level command respectively.
District-level SP postings rounding out the reshuffle include Akshay Prahlad Konde and Niharika Tomar for Rudraprayag, Rekha Yadav for Champawat, Devendra Pincha as Commandant of the 31st Battalion, and Jitendra Kumar Mehra for Bageshwar, covering several of Uttarakhand's hill districts with distinct terrain and law-enforcement logistics challenges.
The reshuffle also assigned specialised crime and traffic postings, with Jitendra Chaudhary and Nisha Yadav named Superintendent of Police for Crime and Traffic in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar respectively, reflecting increased departmental focus on dedicated crime and traffic management functions distinct from general district policing.
Reshuffles spanning this many officers and ranks, from DIG-level promotions down to district SP and battalion commandant postings, are typically issued by the state as a single consolidated order reflecting periodic administrative recalibration across Uttarakhand's police hierarchy.
The transfer orders were issued through the Uttarakhand Home Department, which administers postings and transfers for the state's IPS cadre officers.
