PESB Recommends Sunil Prasad for Director (Technical), Madras Fertilizers

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Sunil Prasad, currently Deputy General Manager (Production) at National Fertilizers Limited, for the post of Director (Technical) at Madras Fertilizers Limited (MFL), according to the outcome of the board's latest selection meeting.

MFL is a central public sector undertaking under the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, operating a urea and complex fertiliser manufacturing unit in Chennai. The Director (Technical) post is a board-level position responsible for plant operations, production planning and technology upgrades at the company's manufacturing facility.

Prasad's career has been built within the fertiliser PSU sector. As DGM (Production) at National Fertilizers Limited, one of the country's largest urea producers with plants in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, he has handled large-scale plant operations for a nitrogenous fertiliser manufacturer.

PESB recommendations are forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet for final clearance before an officer formally takes charge of a board-level PSU post. The recommendation does not by itself constitute an appointment order.

MFL has been working to raise capacity utilisation at its Manali plant in recent years amid periodic feedstock supply constraints affecting the fertiliser sector.
