Sasimohan V Appointed DIG, CISF on Deputation

Sasimohan V, a 2011-batch IPS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Industrial Security Force on deputation, according to an order issued this week.

CISF operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs and guards installations across the country, including airports, metro rail networks, seaports and atomic power facilities. DIG-rank officers typically oversee security operations for a designated zone or a cluster of high-value installations, coordinating with local police and airport or port authorities on threat assessment.

Sasimohan V's move to CISF follows the established practice of drawing officers from state IPS cadres for tenures at the Central Armed Police Forces. Deputation postings of this kind typically run for a fixed tenure before the officer reverts to parent cadre duty in Tamil Nadu.

The appointment adds to the pool of state-cadre officers currently serving central deputation assignments within CISF's zonal command structure, which is organised into regional headquarters overseeing installation-specific security units.

The order takes effect from the date the officer reports to the new posting.
