The Punjab government has carried out a significant round of administrative transfers, realigning four senior Indian Administrative Service officers across critical portfolios. Ramvir has been appointed Commissioner of Jalandhar Division and will concurrently hold additional charge as Administrative Secretary of the Water Supply and Sanitation Department—a dual responsibility that places him at the helm of both divisional governance and a vital civic services portfolio. Ghanshyam Thori has been elevated to Secretary of the Health & Family Welfare Department, with additional responsibility as Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM) and Secretary for Medical Education & Research—a multifaceted portfolio that underscores the government's focus on healthcare reform. Puneet Goyal has been posted as Special Secretary in the Information & Public Relations Department, with additional charge as Director of the same department, giving him oversight of the state's communications and media outreach functions. Mrs. Akshita Gupta, meanwhile, has been assigned as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Ropar, strengthening district-level administration in the region.
