Sanjeev Singh Transferred as Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare Department
Sanjeev Singh moves from Commissioner of Bhopal Division to head the Sports and Youth Welfare Department as Secretary.
Sanjeev Singh, a 2005-batch IAS officer, has been transferred from his post as Commissioner of Bhopal Division to take up the role of Secretary in the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, according to a Madhya Pradesh government order dated June 17, 2026. The move shifts Singh from a regional administrative charge to a state-level department handling sports infrastructure, youth programs and athlete development schemes. His exit from the Bhopal Division leaves the post vacant for Karamveer Sharma, a 2010-batch officer named in the same order. Singh's appointment also triggers a consequential change at the Sports and Youth Welfare Department: Manish Singh, a 1997-batch officer who previously held the department as an additional charge alongside his role as Principal Secretary of Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment, will be relieved of that responsibility once the transfer takes effect. The order was issued by the General Administration Department and signed by Chief Secretary Anurag Jain.
