Seven IAS Officers Reassigned in Odisha, Including Postings in Home, Forest and Excise Departments

Seven IAS officers have been given new departmental responsibilities in Odisha, according to a state government order, with postings spanning the Home, Forest, Education, Excise and public transport sectors.

Birendra Korkora, a 2014-batch officer, has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Home Department, while Aradhana Das, also 2014 batch, takes over as Additional Secretary in the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department. These are two of the state's most consequential departments, covering internal security coordination and environmental clearances respectively.

Among the 2015-batch officers moved, Jugaleswari Das has been posted as Director of Secondary Education, Archana Das Pattanik as Director of AYUSH, and Anjana Panda as Additional Secretary in the Excise Department, which oversees the state's liquor licensing and revenue collection from excise duties. Sanjay Kumar Biswal has been shifted to Director, Information and Public Relations.

Sundara Madhaba Padhi has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Odisha Maritime Board, with additional charge as General Manager of the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation, giving him oversight of both the state's port infrastructure body and its public bus transport utility simultaneously.

The reshuffle groups together officers from the 2014 and 2015 batches, suggesting the state government is rotating a cohort of similarly senior officers through key departmental assignments as part of its routine administrative cycle rather than a response to any single event.

The spread of postings across security, environment, education, health systems, excise and transport indicates the state is distributing experienced officers across departments that each carry distinct compliance and revenue responsibilities heading into the next fiscal year.

All seven postings take effect with the issuance of the state government's order.
