DCP Sharad Bhaskar Sarade Gets Additional Charge of Recruitment in Delhi Police

The Lt. Governor of Delhi has approved a proposal entrusting Sharad Bhaskar Sarade, a 2013-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre currently serving as DCP Headquarters-III, with the additional charge of DCP Recruitment.

The DCP Recruitment post oversees hiring processes for constabulary and other entry-level positions within the Delhi Police, a function that runs alongside Sarade's existing headquarters responsibilities. Additional charge assignments of this kind are common in the Delhi Police when a recruitment cycle is underway and a dedicated officer is not immediately available for a standalone posting.

Sarade's dual charge means he will manage both his headquarters portfolio and recruitment oversight simultaneously until a permanent arrangement is made. The order was approved on Monday as part of the same batch of Delhi Police transfers that reshuffled several other AGMUT-cadre officers, including Parmaditya and Nidhin Valsan.

The DCP Recruitment post handles hiring cycles for constables and other entry-level cadres within the roughly 90,000-strong Delhi Police force, coordinating written examinations, physical tests and medical screening for thousands of applicants during active recruitment drives. Sarade, a 2013-batch officer, takes on this additional load at a point in his career when officers of his seniority typically hold single-charge district or specialised postings rather than dual assignments spanning both headquarters administration and recruitment.
