ACC Waives Cooling-Off Period for IPS Officer Vidhi Kumar Birdi
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has waived the mandatory cooling-off period for IPS officer Vidhi Kumar Birdi for central deputation.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has granted approval to waive the mandatory cooling-off period applicable to Vidhi Kumar Birdi, paving the way for his central deputation. The proposal was forwarded by the Ministry of Home Affairs, reflecting the government's intent to utilise his expertise at the central level without the standard waiting interval. Birdi is a 2003-batch IPS officer of the Union Territory (UT) cadre. The cooling-off period waiver, though exceptional, is a provision available in the government's service rules to accommodate critical operational or administrative requirements. Birdi's early deployment on central deputation is expected to contribute to the Ministry's ongoing security and administrative priorities.
