17 State Civil Service Officers in Gujarat Inducted into IAS Under Select List 2025
Seventeen Gujarat SCS officers promoted to IAS under Select List 2025; all allocated to Gujarat cadre following UPSC-led DPC process.
Seventeen State Civil Service (SCS) officers in Gujarat have been promoted to the Indian Administrative Service under the Select List of 2025 and allocated to the Gujarat cadre. The promotions were cleared through the standard Departmental Promotion Committee process involving the Union Public Service Commission. The officers promoted are: R N Kuchara, R P Patel, C B Ganatra, C A Gandhi, B N Patel, M K Joshi, A K Joshi, K S Zala, V K Jadav, D K Patel, B H Patel, I R Wala, M D Chudasama, B S Prajapati, V G Patel, A K Vastani, and R B Rathod. Gujarat is one of India's larger state cadres, and the induction of seventeen officers in a single batch is reflective of the accumulated vacancies and promotion cycles that build up over multiple service years. SCS officers who clear the DPC are placed in the junior time scale of the IAS and typically continue their postings in the state, bringing with them years of experience in district and sub-district level governance. The promoted officers are expected to take up responsibilities in district administration, state departments, and other roles where IAS officers are required. Gujarat has been actively filling its cadre positions as the state expands its infrastructure and development programmes. These inductions are part of the annual exercise carried out across all states to maintain the prescribed ratio of direct recruit IAS officers and state civil service promotees in each cadre.
