Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan — decorated with the PVSM, AVSM, and VSM — has assumed charge as the 27th Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), succeeding Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, who retired after a distinguished career that included the successful conduct of Operation Sindoor. Prior to his elevation, Admiral Swaminathan commanded the Western Naval Command. His appointment marks a new chapter for the Indian Navy as it navigates complex maritime security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
