Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan has assumed charge as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command, one of the Indian Navy's three principal operational commands. His takeover follows the elevation of Admiral Krishna Swaminathan to the post of Chief of Naval Staff.
