Nandan is an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers, the cadre responsible for rolling stock design, maintenance, and production oversight across Indian Railways, a background directly relevant to leading a coach manufacturing production unit given the mechanical engineering expertise the role requires.
