Anil Kumbhare Takes Charge as Joint CP of Mumbai Crime Branch
IPS officer Anil Kumbhare, previously heading traffic operations, has been appointed as Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch), Mumbai.
Anil Kumbhare, who has been serving as Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) in Mumbai, has been elevated to the crucial post of Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch), the city's apex criminal investigation unit. A 2005-batch IPS officer belonging to the Maharashtra cadre, Kumbhare brings considerable operational experience to the role. His transfer to the Crime Branch places him at the helm of investigations into serious criminal offences across Mumbai. The move is part of a broader wave of senior police appointments in Maharashtra, reflecting the state government's intent to restructure and reinforce key policing portfolios.
