Deepak Kumar Sinha Posted as PCSTE, North Central Railway

Deepak Kumar Sinha, presently Chief Signal Engineer on North Central Railway, has been posted as Principal Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer on the same railway. He is an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers.

The PCSTE is the senior-most signalling and telecommunications post at the zonal level, responsible for signal interlocking systems, train control technology and communication networks across North Central Railway's divisions covering parts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

Sinha's elevation comes from within the same zone, having served as Chief Signal Engineer — a position one rung below the PCSTE with similar functional responsibility but narrower scope — making this a promotion rather than a lateral transfer.

North Central Railway's signalling upgrade work has included replacement of ageing relay-based interlocking systems with electronic interlocking at several stations, a multi-year modernisation effort that the PCSTE's office oversees at the zonal level.

As PCSTE, Sinha will be responsible for the zone's progress on signalling modernisation, a function with direct bearing on both train safety and the line capacity gains the railway is targeting through improved interlocking technology.

His move from Chief Signal Engineer to PCSTE keeps him within the same technical domain, providing continuity on ongoing signalling projects he would already be familiar with from his previous post.

The posting takes effect as per the order issued by the Railway Board.
