Kala Ramachandran Gets Additional Charge of Director, FSL Haryana

Kala Ramachandran, a 1994-batch IPS officer of the Haryana cadre serving as Director General, Madhuban Complex, and Director, Haryana Police Academy, has been given additional charge of Director, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), the state government announced on Friday.

The FSL is the state's central forensic testing agency, processing evidence for criminal investigations ranging from DNA analysis to ballistics and narcotics testing, and its output directly affects the pace of prosecutions across Haryana's district courts.

Ramachandran currently oversees training functions at the Madhuban Complex and the Haryana Police Academy, both of which train recruits and serving officers for the state force, and will now additionally supervise the FSL's operations alongside her existing charges.

The additional charge arrangement follows a pattern seen elsewhere in the Haryana cadre this week, where senior IPS officers have been asked to take on extra responsibilities pending regular postings.

The order takes effect immediately, as announced by the state government, with Ramachandran holding all three charges concurrently.
