Karnataka Reshuffles Five Senior IAS Officers; Anjum Parwez Moves to PWD

The Karnataka government on Wednesday effected the transfer of five senior Indian Administrative Service officers in a mid-year reshuffle that realigns key administrative positions across several departments. The most prominent among the postings is that of Anjum Parwez (KN:1994), who has been moved from Additional Chief Secretary of the Forest, Ecology and Environment Department to the same rank in the Public Works Department (PWD). Rajendra Kumar Kataria (KN:1996), Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department, has been shifted to the Home Department — a posting of considerable significance given the Home portfolio's centrality to law, order and policy implementation in the state. Mohan Raj K.P. (KN:2007), who was serving as Secretary of the Housing Department, has been transferred to the Social Welfare Department while retaining the additional charge of Secretary, Housing. Dr. Selvamani R. (KN:2013), who was Commissioner for Transport and Road Safety, has been moved to head the Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) as its Managing Director, a transition from a regulatory role to an operational leadership position. Dr. Mahesh M. (KN:2017), who had been awaiting a posting, has been appointed as Managing Director of the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board in Bengaluru — a critical role given the ongoing challenges around water infrastructure in the rapidly growing city. The reshuffle reflects the Karnataka government's intent to recalibrate departmental leadership ahead of the second half of the financial year, with key infrastructure and administrative verticals receiving experienced officers. The transfers are expected to take effect immediately following official notifications.
