Kerala Shuffles Two IGP-Rank IPS Officers; Vimaladitya Moves to North Zone
Kerala transfers two IGP-rank IPS officers: Putta Vimaladitya moves to North Zone, S. Sateesh Bino takes Internal Security charge.
The Kerala government on Wednesday ordered the transfer of two Inspector General of Police (IGP)-rank IPS officers, reorganising portfolios within the state's upper police hierarchy. Putta Vimaladitya, a 2008-batch IPS officer of the Kerala cadre, has been transferred from his posting as IGP, Internal Security, to IGP, North Zone. Vimaladitya had served as nodal officer for the United Democratic Front government's anti-drug campaign 'Toofan', a role that brought him wide public attention. S. Sateesh Bino, also of the 2008 Kerala-cadre batch, moves from IGP, Armed Police Battalions, to take charge as IGP, Internal Security — the post vacated by Vimaladitya. The transfers represent a lateral restructuring at the IGP level, with both officers exchanging functional portfolios within the state police establishment.
