Madhya Pradesh wins “Leading Tourism Destination” award at GITB 2026, highlighting its global appeal in heritage and experiential tourism.
Madhya Pradesh has been awarded the title of “Leading Tourism Destination” at the Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) 2026 held in Jaipur. The recognition was conferred during the Travel & Tourism Excellence Awards organized by FICCI in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Rajasthan Tourism. The award was received by Dr. Abhay Arvind Bedekar on behalf of the MP Tourism Board. Officials highlighted the state’s growing global appeal, driven by its blend of heritage, wildlife, spirituality, and immersive cultural experiences. The state’s pavilion at GITB 2026 showcased its diverse tourism offerings, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites, eco-tourism initiatives, and rural tourism circuits. Cultural performances such as the traditional Badhaai dance further enriched visitor engagement. The recognition underscores Madhya Pradesh’s rising prominence as a global travel destination.
