Maharashtra Reshuffles Seven IPS Officers to Reinforce Security Apparatus
Maharashtra reassigns seven IPS officers to senior positions including the Anti-Drug Squad, Armed Police, Anti-Terrorist Squad, and Brihanmumbai commissionerate.
The Maharashtra government has announced fresh postings for seven Indian Police Service officers, strengthening the state's policing and security framework across specialised and metropolitan units. Sharda Raut has been appointed as Special Inspector General of Police for the Anti-Drug Squad — a critical posting as Maharashtra intensifies its efforts against narcotics trafficking. Vineeta Sahu joins as Additional Police Commissioner (Armed Police) in Mumbai, reinforcing the city's uniformed armed contingent. Sheela Sayil has been designated as Superintendent of Police of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), Mumbai, taking charge of one of the country's most significant counter-terrorism units. Prakash Jadhav has been posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police at the Office of the Director General of Police. At the district policing level, Vivek Patil joins as Deputy Commissioner of Police in Pimpri-Chinchwad, and Dattatraya Kamble takes up the same rank in Brihanmumbai. Ashok Bankar has been appointed Principal of the Police Training Centre in Jalna, tasked with shaping the next generation of Maharashtra's police personnel.
